SAP® Business One lets users configure the basic system settings for all capabilities. This includes defining exchange rates, setting authorization parameters, creating internal mail, e-mail, and SMS settings, and configuring data import/export functions. In the administration capability, the key functions that can be configured include:

User definitions
Chart of accounts, tax codes, sales employees, territories, projects, address formats, payment terms, vendor, customer, item and commission groups, warehouses, service contract templates and queues, banks, payment methods, and shipping methods

Authorizations
Administrators can define what information users may access. Documents have owners and, based on a user's relationship to the owner; they will be granted either full, read-only, or no access. Access can be defined on whether the user is in the same team, department or branch, or has the same manager as the owner or is the owner's manager or a subordinate
